Commercial Pest Control Services.

Prevention of pests is even more critical for a business that handles food. The Food Hygiene (Amendment) Regulations 1990 stipulates that businesses should "prevent, so far as reasonably practicable, the entry of birds, and any risk of infestation by rats, mice, insects or other pests".
The Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 makes "Adequate procedures must be in place to ensure pests are controlled" a legal requirement. Regulation (EC) 852/2004 requires that food safety procedures are written down and that records are kept.
In addition to complying with these regulations, using the services of a pest control company can be submitted as a form of 'due diligence' in case of prosecution under the 1990 Food Safety Act.
